'The Shakespeare City Walk' has been taking place continuously since 1999.
Shakespeare, the universal Genius, lived in London for many years, and wrote the world's best-known and best-loved literature right here. On this much-praised tour we tread in his footsteps, visiting sites connected with him but leaving out the expensive and too well-known Globe Theatre. We learn more about both Genius and man; his work, friends, love-life etc: the triumphs and the tragedies. Many little-known monuments exist and, best of all, your Guide is a former professional actor (including in Shakespeare's plays) who illustrates Shakespeare's London with Shakespeare's own immortal words while we walk. You will come away enthused and inspired.
This 90 minute leisurely tour does not go to the Globe Theatre (because everyone already knows it), but instead uncovers often little-known monuments and locations in the City of London with connections to Shakespeare's life, his friends, his loves and his work, etc. As a former professional actor Declan McHugh also illustrates what he talks about with Shakespeare's own immortal words.
This walk meets at Blackfriars underground... View the complete description...
